Donor Intros: Day Five!

Drumroll please! *bangs rhythm on empty Nutella jar*

It's time to meet more spectacular donors. I feel the need to point something out before we get into the nitty gritty. I met all of these donors through different writer sponsored events - Ms. Cole and I met through last year's Writers For Hope Auction, I got the privilege to meet Ms. Dionne (as well as one of tomorrow's donors) through the May 2012 Backspace Writers Conference in NYC and Ms. Dorset and I first came into contact through the lovely Brenda Drake's Pitch Wars. The point of mentioning all of this is to emphasize that writers like to help out other writers. So, if you're reading this right now, but feel like you won't be ready to bid on any critiques come April 1, please still stop by the auction. Find other writers to talk to. You may even meet your new beta buddy. I did.

But, now, on to the main event!

 Scarlett Cole

Scarlett Cole is a writer of contemporary romantic suspense. Her debut novel, THE STRONGEST STEEL, book one of the SECOND CIRCLE series, will be published by St. Martin's Press in Spring 2015.

A true city-dweller, she considers Toronto and Manchester home, and likes to set her books in vibrant locations such as Miami and Los Angeles.

Scarlett's days are spent immersed in whatever book she is currently working on. The rest of her time is spent working out to offset a legendary sour candy habit, searching for the perfect pair of shoes, consuming every form of romantic fiction, and promising her family that she will get round to cooking dinner in a minute.

Scarlett is represented by Beth Phelan at The Bent Agency.

Skylar Dorset

Skylar’s first story was a tale of romantic intrigue involving two feuding factions of squirrels. Think “Romeo & Juliet” but with bushy tails and added espionage. She was seven.

Skylar is a born-and-bred New Englander, which is why Boston was a natural setting for her debut novel, THE GIRL WHO NEVER WAS. The sequel THE BOY WITH THE HIDDEN NAME was released December 2014.

Skylar is a proud member of OneFour KidLit, The BookYArd Writers, and A Game of Tomes. She is represented by Andrea Somberg of Harvey Klinger, Inc.
